'Cause I've been up and down this highway, far as my eyes can see,
No matter how fast I ride, I can never seem to get away from me,
No matter where I am, I can't help feeling I'm just a day away from where I want to be,
Now I'm running home baby, like a river to the sea.

TRAVEL RECOMMENDATIONS - SMART TRAVELLER
Following is a link to the Australian Governments Smart Traveller page for the Philippines
The main concern is potable water. Rule of thumb throughout the Philippines... don't drink water from a tap, even if the hotel says it is 'potable'. Generally, hotels will supply sufficient bottled water in your room.
Smart Traveller - Phillippines
Roger Glover & Friends - "No Solution" Good advice for all travellers to the Philippines "The Butterfly Ball and the Grasshopper's Feast" is a concept album and subsequent live rock opera written by Roger Glover. It appeared in 1974 and 1975 respectively, and was based on the children's poem of a similar title. The album cover design is from Alan Aldridge's design for a 1973 book based on the poem. |

Travel Insurance
There are a lot of great deals for travel insurance out there. Read the fine print, and in particular look for exclusion clauses that refer to personal injury arising from the use of a motorcycle.
Entering the Philippines
Australian travelers entering the Philippines are not required to obtain a Visa prior to arrival. HOWEVER, you are required to 'register' with Philippine eTravel website
To use this facility a user account needs to be created. It's a good idea to create a user account now, record all the details that Marcos requires including uploading a selfie. It's also advisable to install the eGovPH app to your phone at this time. When your flight bookings have been completed make a diary note to login to your 'eTravel' account and register your intended arrival NOT MORE THAN 72 HOURS BEFORE YOU DEPART MEL or BNE.
Likewise, within 72 hours of your return flight, login and 'register' your departure.
The app wil generate a QR code which must be produced to the Immigration Man
The incoming passenger area at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Manila International) can be sometimes a little chaotic. Do not dawdle here!
Won't you let me in immigration man
Can I cross your line and pray
Take your fingers from the tray
Let me in-irritation man
I won't toe your line today
I can't see it anyway.
Currency
Money Changers are everywhere... and they love the Aussie Dollar.
Rule of thumb... 1AUD will get you close to 40PHP (Philippine Pesos)
Authorised Money Changers in the Philippines are regulated by the government and therefore all offer the same rates. The best place to change AUD is at the airport following baggage collection. The taxi fare to the city will cost around 500PHP, but dont rush. There are many operators and its worth just holding back for a few minutes and observing the chaos.
The Tour Song
I think I'm sophisticated 'cause I'm living my life
Like a good homo sapien
But all around me everybody's multiplying
And they're walking round like flies man
So I'm no better than the animals sitting
In the cages in the zoo, man
'Cause compared to the flowers and the birds and the trees
I am an apeman
I think I'm so educated and I'm so civilized
'Cause I'm a strict vegetarian
But with the over-population and inflation and starvation
And the crazy politicians
I don't feel safe in this world no more
I don't want to die in a nuclear war
I want to sail away to a distant shore and make like an apeman
